The upside of taking chances
On Ground Hog’s Day in 2016, Punxsutawney Phil made his annual venture out of his den. It was a cloudy day, therefore he did not see his shadow, thus signifying an early spring.
We are left to ponder – in the years when the sun is shining outside his den, what is it that is frightening to the groundhog? Why does he feel safer to stay where he is, instead of venturing out into the world and to all the possibilities?
There is a parable in this for us. Too many businesses retreat when they should advance, or remain where it is “comfortable” because the unknown feels too risky. So what is the result? Six more weeks of winter. More time spent in the “status quo.” So much growth and advancement is possible, if we summon the courage and take the bold steps required.
Here at NK&A, we help businesses that want to step out of the den. Those clients that want to increase sales, or strengthen awareness, or grow their client list, but are unsure how to “step out.” We show them how to do it, and map out which direction to travel to achieve success. Is it uncomfortable? Absolutely. Change is never easy. But in our experience, the businesses that achieve the highest level of success are those that are willing to leave their comfort zone to explore the possibilities. What will you do to “step out” this week?
