What would you do with an extra day?
I have an uncle that turned 10 years old in February of 2016. He has actually been living for 40 years, but because he was born on February 29th, he has only had 10 real birthdays in his life. As a leap year baby, he squeezes the most out of each birthday and the extra day he has in his life.
We know that in years like 2016 we get one extra day, but why do we call it a “Leap Year?”
In normal 365-day years, which are known as “Common years,” fixed dates advance one day in the week per year. For example, Christmas in 2014 was on a Thursday, and last year it fell on a Friday. With the insertion of a leap day, dates advance 2 days instead of one. So this year, 2016, Christmas will leap over Saturday to fall on a Sunday.
For many, Leap Day comes and goes almost without notice. But for some, they may see this extra day as an opportunity – a chance to leap out and try something bold.
NK&A’s clients are passionate entrepreneurial leaders who embrace the “Leap Day” spirit. They come to us ready for strategies and approaches to marketing that are out of their comfort zone and may involve some risk. They ask us to squeeze the benefits of an extra day or extra dollar of return out of our efforts. For those willing to take the leap with us, the results for them are impressive growth and expanded networks; and for us, an extra day to share in their victories.
“Take that big leap forward without hesitation, without once looking back. Simply forget the past and forge toward the future.”
