Change and the new normal
We can all feel the changes.
The question is what changes will stick and which ones will fade away once the coronavirus recedes.
Were you around for the Tylenol scare back in 1982? People died from illicit drug tampering of Tylenol capsules in Metropolitan Chicago. This led to reforms in the packaging of drugs. Pill bottles now had seals at the top to protect the contents. When the Tylenol scare was over the seals on pill bottles remained. They’re still in place today.
The coronavirus is a scare. We’ve reformed our behavior by social distancing among other things. We’ve learned to work from home. It’s a change. Once the coronavirus recedes, working from home and the perceptions of working from home will not go back to the way they were.
The idea of working from home and identifying it as being an added perk when hiring the best talent will no longer be the case. It won’t be a perk anymore.
Many other things will change that will define our new normal post coronavirus.
