3 ways to stand out during a labor shortage

Here are three suggestions for small business owners:

  1. Get creative. It’s time to ditch the ‘business as usual’ model and re-think the way you are doing things. There are options, even with fewer staff, to make your business run more smoothly.
  2. Communicate more. One of the most frustrating consumer experiences is having to wait a long time for something that used to be almost immediate. But people are typically understanding if they know what is happening and what to expect. Communicate your commitment to them and your respect of their time.
  3. Appreciate your staff. Any measures that will demonstrate to your staff your gratitude and the impact that their efforts are making on the business will go leaps and bounds towards your company image. And to the point above, communicate more with your staff as well. Make them part of the solution, and a real part of the team.
